March ’19 – New Releases

Pacha Mama
Callie and Nina from Pacha Mama have an outstanding suite of wines with their new releases. The 2018 Pinot Gris is aromatic, textural and delicious. The 2018 Riesling is a classic Central Victorian expression showing orange blossom aromatics and the 2017 Heathcote Shiraz is all bright blue fruits, liquorice with earthy, spicy notes..  so distinctly Heathcote.

Glaetzer Dixon
Many of you would now have seen the stunning line up from Nick Glaetzer with these 2018 releases. The Uberblanc is a drier expression with loads of citrus and floral/musk notes followed by an intense, textural palate. The 2018 Nouveau has been a huge hit with only one pallet left, incredibly aromatic and spicy and super fresh. Finally a classic wine with the 2018 Avance Pinot Noir….Most of the fruit is from the Derwent providing perfume and a pretty spectrum of flavours. The Coal valley portion holding the wine with richer, earthy, spicy flavours.

Helm Wines
Ken Helm has a way with Riesling, producing wines of exceptional purity and balance, a testament to Ken’s passion and 42 vintages of experience! The 2018 Orange (Central ranges NSW) is floral, citrus blossom and fresh nectarine on a perfectly fine long palate. The 2018 Half Dry nails it with a touch of residual sugar fleshing the wine out just a touch. Never cloying or sweet, Ken’s Half Dry is simply a delicious wine. Think long lunches at your favourite dumpling restaurant.

Even Keel
Another superb value Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir from Sam Coverdale of Even Keel and Polperro. The 2017 has just rolled over from the 2016. Red fruits, savoury elements all on a flowing, supple stucture.
